SAVING YOUR FAMILY TREASURES. DVD. Maureen A. Taylor. DVD, 2008.

Whether you want to learn how to preserve a wedding dress, scrapbooks, or newspaper clippings this practical presentation will explore the types of damage that can occur to items passed down in the family and what you can do to prevent it.

This presentation covers many different types of objects, from clothing and jewelry to paper based family history documents and beyond. You'll learn some common sense tips on how you can save your heritage for the next generation without spending a fortune. You'll also learn what to do when disaster strikes and how to hire a conservator for those difficult preservation problems.

Maureen A. Taylor is an internationally recognized expert on the intersection of history, genealogy, and photography. She studies photographic clues to tell the stories present in her clients' family pictures and albums.

Maureen has been featured in top media outlets, including The View, Martha Stewart Living, and The Today Show. Maureen is the author of a number of books and magazine articles, as well as a contributing editor at Family Tree Magazine. Her latest projects include The Last Muster: Images of the Revolutionary War Generation, (Kent State University Press, 2010) and Fashionable Folks: Hairstyles 1840-1900, (Picture Perfect Press, 2009). In 2007, The Wall Street Journal called her "the nation's foremost historical photo detective."
