History and Genealogy of Fenwick's Colony [N.J.]History and Genealogy of Fenwick's Colony [N.J.]. Thomas Shourds. Paperback, (1876), 2008, Illus., Index, 581 pp.
Founded in 1675, Fenwick's Colony was the first permanent English-speaking settlement in the entire Delaware Valley. Constituting one-tenth of West New Jersey, Fenwick's Colony absorbed the nearby settlements of Finns and Swedes and attracted to itself a great number of immigrant Quakers. This book is a composite history and genealogy of the Colony, and the bulk of it is comprised of scores of family histories. 5350-C |
