Bailey’s Early Connecticut Marriages. The books are in Adobe PDF format and consist of graphic images of the original publications, which can be read as you would any book. Each book contains an index, allowing for quick look-ups. Marriages are listed chronologically by county, with most entries including the wife's maiden name. Some of the records show the individual's place of residence. There are approximately 26,800 marriages and 53,600 individuals listed. Most listings are for Congregational churches only, since, according to the author, "…they were the earliest and most prevalent everywhere." All of this is accomplished using Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is provided FREE on the CD.
