This book is a history of the gifting of land in Narragansett Country by the Indians to John Winthrop, Humphrey Atherton, Edward Hutchinson, and others, in 1659, and other land transactions to the year 1686.. The various documents and narratives provide background, historical details, names, and dates of the land transactions and events, as well as problems encountered by the Proprietors of Narragansett in their efforts to settle this area.
