Janaway Publishing, Inc., is a family-owned publishing
company, specializing in historical and genealogical material, located in
Santa Maria, on the Central Coast of California. This Web site, Janaway
Genealogy Books, is our retail arm, where our books and materials, as well as
those of all major genealogical publishers, are available for purchase. We
maintain a large number of titles, and can find many publications for you
that are difficult to locate, or that are no longer in print. All of our
retail sales are conducted exclusively through the Internet and mail
order.
We have recently added Byron Sistler and Associates, Inc., to our family
of associates. Byron Sistler and Associates, Inc., has been
a genealogy book publisher of Tennessee and Kentucky records for the past
38 years. Since her husband Byron Sistler's death in 2004, and the death
of her son, Sam Sistler, in 2006, Barbara Sistler has decided to retire
and turn the reins of the business over to her son, George Cook, who will
continue to operate this prominent and established business. Byron
Sistler and Associates, Inc. will continue to operate their Wesbsite,
Sistler Genealogy.
To maintain their quality service, the Sistlers have moved their entire
inventory to Janaway Publishing, Inc., and Janaway Genealogy Books, who
will handle all Sistler orders, and provide all printing, shipping and
fulfillment services for Sistler books, while George continues to work on
product development and sales.

Janaway Publishing, Inc., also has a small division specializing in
digital reprints of old, out-of-print books, and we have access to books
of other publishers who also print on demand.
Currently, there are over 15,000 out-of-print titles in our
"Print-on-Demand" Catalog.
These books have been scanned, digitally enhanced, and maintained on
computer disc for on-demand printing. The books are normally printed as a
single copy, on 50 pound, acid-free paper, and bindings on these books are
generally soft cover comb binding or Hardcover. Hardcover binding
generally costs $20.00, and extends the delivery date approximately 2-4
weeks. These items are all identified in the listings, and also included
under the QuickPrint! Titles. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery
of all QuickPrint! titles.
We are always seeking manuscripts from authors
of local histories, and transcriptions of original records, such as wills,
deeds, tax records, court records, military records, birth and death
records, marriage records, church records, and tombstone inscriptions. We
have established a program for authors, which is fully described elsewhere
on this Web site, and are actively seeking manuscript submissions. This
program also includes a compensation component for submissions and
contributions by owners of rare, out-of-print books.
